This past Monday, January 31, 2022, our founder and visionary, Bill Carty officially retired from Bartimaeus Inc. and Bartimaeus Rehabilitation Services. Bill started Bartimaeus back in 1988 with a vision to provide exceptional services to individuals and organizations who required support. It was truly ‘one of one’, there was no other company doing what Bartimaeus was proposing. From modest beginnings, Bartimaeus has grown across three provinces and given so many practitioners opportunities to work in a variety of settings. Bartimaeus has helped countless children, families and organizations during the past 33 years.

Through Bartimaeus, Bill was a supporter of the Child and Youth Care field, including as a college faculty member, sponsorship of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care and the CYC-net resource.

After 48+ years in the field and leading our organizations for 33 years, we say good-bye and best wishes to a true mentor. He has touched all of our professional and personal lives in a very special way. We wish him the very best in his retirement and we will continue his legacy of providing the highest quality services…every day!
